Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a relevant diploma or advanced diploma in education, child development, or a related field.

  • Completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification (including certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees, or degrees).

Course Prerequisites

Applicants should have a basic foundation in education or child development. Specific entry requirements may vary depending on prior qualifications or study experience.

Other Requirements

All applicants must complete a selection process to assess non-academic personal and professional attributes. Admission considers both academic and non-academic achievements.

English Language Proficiency

Applicants must demonstrate suitable English language proficiency to successfully complete the course. Additional criteria may apply based on the applicant’s educational background. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.

Working with Children Check and Police Check

All enrolled students must maintain a current Working with Children Check (from the appropriate State Authority). A Police Check may also be required by a school prior to a placement.

How Credit Points Work

To qualify, students must complete 200 credit points (16 units of study, 12.5 points each):

  • 12 core units (150 points)

  • 2 placement units (25 points)

  • 2 elective/professional development units (25 points)

Students can study 1–4 units per teaching period.
